The aim of the project is the development of performance and energy efficiency tuning plugins for the Periscope tool.

The project consortium expects performance improvements and energy savings of up to 10% for high-performance applications running on supercomputers as for example the SuperMUC Petaflops system.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration.

Energy Tuning Visualizer (Energy Plugin)

It is one of the goals of the AutoTune project to make HPC more energy efficient. This is done by modifying the clock frequency of the processors when applications are executed. The lower the clock frequency, the less energy is consumed by the processor.

The visualizer motivates goals and purposes of the project to general audience and demonstrates the energy/performance tradeoff.

Tuning Plugin Demos

cfs_demo The Videos demonstrate how the plugins that have been developed within the project work.
